When are you open?
Monday to Friday from 9am to 4:45pm. There is always someone on duty to speak to you from 1pm to 4pm and our Resource Room is open at that time as well.
Is there a charge for your services?
No although there will be a charge for any equipment that is ordered through us.
Could you teach me Braille?
Yes.
What are Talking Books?
Talking Books are audio versions of books and we have a small library here. RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) and Calibre have extensive libraries. Calibre lends their books for nothing, but RNIB charge £82 per annum for books and the loan of a Daisy machine to play them. Clients can get advice from their Care Manager about this.
Are you connected to RNIB or Guide Dogs?
These are separate charities altogether although we obviously have links with both organisations through our clients and their needs.
